HFC-Programs

Highland FC is a regional soccer club open to players aged 11 and up from across the Highland region, spanning from Amherst to Port Hawkesbury.

Our teams play at the highest competitive levels (AA/AAA) in the province in the Nova Scotia Soccer League, against teams from every region of the province. We offer players a higher level of trainign than most clubs, with additional off field sessions to help players reach their greatest potential not only as a player, but as a strong individual within their community.

Our summer programs consist of 2 full team practices a week, and additional 'back-yard' sessions in your home community covering various items like strength training, healthy diet, etc. Games in the NSSL are normally played on weekends, with home games either in Antigonish (on turf) or New Glasgow (grass). The season begins in April and runs until late August, with tryouts normally 1-2 weeks beforr the start of the regular season.

Our winter programs also include 2 full team practices a week at the WM Sobey Indoor Sports Complex in Stellarton, and we try to offer a few classroom sessions through the season. As in the summer games in the NSSL are normally played on weekends, with home games at the WM Sobey Indoor Sports Complex. The winters season begins in mid October and runs until the frsr week of March, with tryouts normally held in late September of early October.

Our team coaches all have a minimum "C" license (most are higher), and all possess CPIC background checks and Child Abuse Registry checks, updated on a regular basis. We also hire a Technical Development trainer in the summer season to provide each team with additional training sessions, and we offer goalkeeper training sessions with a specialized Goalkeeper Trainer.
